Get Wrapped!
Participants will be engaged in the making of instant fly masks and wings and be invited to “get wrapped” into a cocoon, by PASPiders baby spider minions. Participants will be able to pose, as if caught in an on-site woven web.
From the artist:
‘Public Art Saint Paul’s PASPider will ensnare us in it’s web and deliver us into a steam-punk Victorian fairyland of participatory sci-fi horror. Picture yourself a fly, caught in the web, helplessly ensnared and wrapped tight as a mummy in genuine 3M reject poly-pro “web” material, as you stare up at the eight eyes and mandibles of the freaky PASPider! Don’t worry, we won’t go so far as to turn you into a liquid! Part hands-on art workshop, part performance art demonstration, part living sculpture, audience members will be invited to make “instant fly costume/masks” and get themselves wrapped by PASPider minions (little spiders)…. ‘
