Ghosts of the Twin Cities
Come experience Studio A, the largest broadcast TV studio in the state, transformed into a virtual time-traveling device. An interactive audio and video installation, Ghosts of the Twin Cities projects vintage local TV footage onto large-scale translucent panels. Meanwhile, motion-sensitive cameras create a ghostly live feed of onlookers, superimposed on footage from the past. Sometimes they see themselves in color; other times in black-and-white. Who are the ghosts: the people in the old footage, or the current participants? Live-composed musical accompaniment by Martha Bourne.
Ghosts of the Twin Cities is part of tpt’s new Open Air Initiative, focused on taking public TV outside of the box.
